Santorini surprise proposal VS doing it in the middle of a photo session

Here is read on the basics of how these two secretly planned proposals done with a photographer work. Here I’ll lay out some of the pros and cons that come with both ways of going about this. But rest assured, both are super awesome experiences that create lasting memories on the form of some of the most truthful photographs anyone can have in their family album. And I can’t stress enough how grateful I am for being a part of some of these magic moments :)

Surprise proposal with a photographer

You go for a walk to a location we’ve planned before. She has no idea that I’m there and when you kneel I capture some of the realest emotions there are.
Cons: weather gets unpredictable, or she doesn’t want to take a morning walk, or you arrive and our arranged place is full of people. But that comes with the territory of true surprises.

Proposal in the middle of a photo session

We arrange a photo session, and she thinks that’s it. But there’s a proposal waiting to happen. So we get the perfect location and we’re pretty flexible. She will dress the part and like what she sees on the pictures afterwards, who doesn’t like looking cute on one of the most important days of her life :)

Cons: Well, depending on how sudden this is, she might have a clue of what you’re up to with the whole romantic trip and special photo session. We’ll try our best to keep it secret, but hey – that’s not the worst thing in the world.

So yeah, it all comes down to knowing the people involved, and I believe you already know what feels right and what doesn’t. What I can say is that both ways let us freeze some of the most beautiful and authentic moments.
