“Anedosa” sea fog covered
Santorini’s caldera

A few days ago, it happened again, the “Anedosa” sea fog covered Santorini’s caldera. This phenomenon reminds me of the Pirates of the Caribbean or Narnia movies, when you just go through the unknown and find yourself at the edge of the world.
If you want to see this unique view on the island of Santorini, you should aim to visit us in May. It is the time of the year when temperatures change the most, from chilly to warm and humid and this creates the opportunity for the sea fog to form. The extent of the cooler waters on the caldera side and wind direction over that area affects the density and duration of the Anedosa event. Because of the lack of rain in Santorini, this phenomenon is very beneficial for the island’s agriculture. :)
