Top secret of Megalochori – cave houses!
Megalochori is a really cute village, that is a fact. Many travellers seek to visit it on some of the first days already – it’s look is very recognizable and represents the true classic Greek island look that all of us are a fan of.
It’s on a hill dotted with little houses, mostly white and some painted in the classic tones that have been used on the island for centuries. But beyond that, what many of the visitors don’t see, is something that lies often right at their noses – Megalochori also has some of the most awesome cave houses on the island!
Some of them function as holiday houses, so you can actually stay over in a real cave. Others are also open for tours, often even for free! So have a look around the options, some of these might be open for visitors only during tourism season. ;)
