SOME TIPS FOR USA TRAVELLERS COMING TO SANTORINI

Coming to Santorini from the United States! If you’re travelling all this way, you might as well make sure you have a good time.

FLYING TO SANTORINI. Let’s start with the basics – I really recommend you choose the upper class or at least for your flight to Athens, you really need to take into account the long flight! Trust me – you do not want to arrive tired and with an aching back etc.! That being said, you need to do your research – around 30 airlines operate the Santorini airport, so you have a wide choice; I suggest you look up at least 20 offers before buying your tickets. Generally Great Western Airlines, Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines deliver the best quality — start with those, but do not buy the first tickets you find. You can also look for package deals, but consider how they fulfil your travelling needs.

STAYING IN SANTORINI. Please have a look at my other blog post on 5 THINGS YOUR PERFECT SANTORINI HOTEL SHOULD HAVE.  Your hotel is going to be your home for the time of your Santorini travel, so do not take this decision lightly.

EATING IN SANTORINI. This advice is short and simple. If you want to have a great meal, head inland. Most of the restaurants inland, offer great food and exquisite Greek cuisine!

There, that’s it! If you just stick to this advice, you’ll really have a pleasurable Santorini experience One final advice is to have fun and enjoy everything the island has to offer. I hope to see you soon!
