This year has been a roller coaster. I got to wake up before sunrise, shoot in crazy winds and say ‘hello’ to the magic of city lights. So fun getting to work with new clients and old. Really really grateful for this journey and a big thank you to anyone who has let me into their life to document all these beautiful moments.
From Australia to Santorini – Natalie and Lewis in a lovely honeymoon shoot
I keep being blessed with meeting people from all over the world and hearing their stories. This time we met up with Natalie and Lewis all the way from Australia. They had engaged in Santorini and now they were back once again for a honeymoon getaway.
It seemed like they were made to come back. The magical aura around them radiated pure love and joy of life. The pull of this small Greek island is truly great, and it always attracts the most special people, and this was no exception.
We met up and decided to go pay a visit to the blue churches and the beach. The island cooperated and offered some of the most magical light. I just hope I did them justice and managed to capture some of that special aura around them :)

Hello dear friends,
Thank you for being together with me in this journey. This has been an exciting year both professionally and personally – I have had the chance to meet so many of you from around the world and have learned a lot and enjoyed every second. Doctors, teachers, artists, lawyers, entrepreneurs, you name it – seems like everyone has flocked to this small Greek island. Santorini has been the destination for Japanese, Canadians, Americans, people from virtually all European countries, Brazilians, Swedes, South Africans, Singaporeans and many many more.
You chose me to capture your moments here, for which I am immensely grateful. And I feel that we are more than just a photographer and clients.
I wish you the very best for 2018 and hope to see you here again someday!

Magical loving wanderers stop by Santorini
Carolina and Arturo are Mexican, but they currently study medicine in Jerusalem. What a combo! They’ve been happily married for 5 years and there’s many more to come. As I met them it was clear that they are truly an adventure loving couple.
We waited for Santorini to do its thing and offer us a marvelous sunset. And it did. When the magic hour struck, it all clicked into place – her pastel dress, his loving look their body language.
It warmed my heart to receive this message the other day, the best thing any photographer could ask really:
Thank you sooo much for such amazing photos! We have no words to tell you how happy and grateful we are about your work! Is such an amazing work and you’re so talented really! You’re the best! You have the eye to capture an emotion and the perfect moment. These photos are like a treasure for us, we are so happy and we can’t believe are us! Thank you for everything, during the photo session was really fun.
You’re the best photographer that’s for sure and we are so grateful that we had the opportunity to know you and that you agreed to work with us!
Thank you so much!!! :)
Hugs and kisses
Carolina and Arturo
Carolina, Arturo – Thank you for a truly magical night! Wish you all the best and hope to meet you again soon! With love, Anna. :)

Exploring characters with SY and Cherie
They came to me through a recommendation from a previous client, which always warms my heart.
SY and Cherie are young and deeply in love, I don’t know if they chose Santorini or Santorini chose them. In this photo session we decided to stay in one village and play around with the visual characters – their clothes, placement and framing – and try to create visually interesting shots that would highlight this wonderful couple and that fuzzy love feeling that is around them.
Thank you for making me a small part of your love journey in Santorini, it was a real pleasure.

Exploring the villages of Santorini – Jessa and David.
Jessa and David came all the way from Arizona, but there’s more than that – their roots are in Europe and actually from the area not far from Santorini. Jessa has some Greek blood and David’s ancestors come from Italy. As soon as I saw them I understood – they have a connection. A connection to this place and even stronger one to each other.
We spent the most magical two hours around the various villages in Santorini. It seemed that we needed to soak in as much of the Greek ambience as possible, so we did the best we could to get a good range of images and feelings. We ended up taking some shots around Imerovigli, Oia and also sneeked in their hotel called Kirini Suites and their spa.
This is one special couple, no doubt and I hope that these images do them justice and convey the unique vibe of love around them.

GET THE LOOK – TIPS FOR PHOTO SESSION OUTFITS
There is a high interest on what to wear to a photo shoot in Santorini to look amazing. Over the years I have found out some things that work and some things that don’t, especially in couples’ photo shoots. Let this serve as a guide, not a definite road map for your choices.
Dressing up for a photo shoot is something we tend to overdo, the main point to remember is to stay true to your own style – you will simply look better in clothes that you feel comfortable in. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with dressing up and rocking a cool skirt or dress, but do not overdo it and try too hard. Same goes for colours – wear tones that make you feel in sync with yourself. One thing to keep in mind is that the clothes should fit you perfectly – we’re aiming for the tailored look to underline you personality!
The same is especially true for guys. No button-ups if your significant other usually wears cool brand sweaters. Think about it – if you’re on a couples’ photoshoot already, his wardrobe choices are not so bad, right?
Go easy on the prints
It’s safer not to go overboard with various prints, especially if they are words – if your t-shirt says something on it, it very often becomes the central point of interest in the image. Same should be said for patterns, try not to dress all in patterns, rather use it to accentuate. If you have to match patterns, make sure that they are of different scales.
Crash course in making your arms look awesome
Each of us has that spot on the body you wish could look better. For most of us, it’s just in our head and no one else even notices, but my experience shows that the key of looking beautiful is FEELING beautiful, so this has to be solved. Your photo session can even be a therapy to make you understand your true beauty.
Quite a few of us struggle with the way our arms look in photographs. As this advice shows, most often it is more connected to what you actually wear on the photo shoot – you must understand that some types of clothing just makes your hands look a bit awkward on camera, it’s that simple.
One of the most basic advice is just to choose a dress or top with quarter sleeves – it can be an elegant and stylish way to draw more attention to your face (which makes photographs more personal, in fact). Sleeves also optically make us look taller and slimmer, beware of the effect and use it to your advantage to look your best on camera.
If you still want to show some skin, go for it and uncover your shoulders, off-shoulders clothes are a bit more dramatic on photographs and add a pinch of originality. It’s also a good idea to accentuate the parts of your body you are proud of, like waist line in a tight dress or face with big earrings or an impressive necklace.
You can also dress in layers, which is actually what locals also do to level out the difference of temperature during the day and night. It’s usually done like this – find your favorite dress and combine it with a cute jacket, crop top or shrug. A big scarf that you wear on your shoulders can also do the trick. And of course don’t forget the classics – dark tones make you look slimmer.
The most important secret
Have fun, really. Don’t overthink this, the main thing is to take as much as possible from this amazing experience of you and your lover being on the island. Nothing makes you look better than being happy.

Santorini wedding photographers tips for travelling with
a wedding gown
Many of my clients come to Santorini to get married or celebrate their anniversary. What you don’t realize when making this decision is that you most likely will have to travel to Santorini with your wedding gowns. For guys travelling with a suit is not that challenging, but international air travel with a wedding dress can be a challenge.
First of all, let’s begin with a decision that could make your life easier. If you want to travel, you can also take this into account when choosing the dress. In general, a very classical wedding dress with a long lower part and corset. It will be far easier if you go for a Greek style or any other smaller dress. However, I know how it is – you just like the dress and you’re ready for anything to get it to Santorini. If so, then go for it!
OK when you have picked the dress, you can start figuring out how to get it to your wedding. There is no absolute advice for it but there are things you can do to increase your chances. One of the best and safest solutions for this is to get a separate suitcase for the dress only. There are actually companies that can pack your dress professionally into it to minimise creasing. When you arrive you can arrange a steam pressing to make sure everything is OK. Just make sure you are totally confident of the maximum carry on size of your flight operator, make calls to double check if necessary.
There is another, more risky solution. It is just packing your wedding dress as usual in a clear cover and carrying it on the plane. If you do this, it is a bit of a gamble, but it can turn out pretty good. Your wedding dress will of course exceed the allowed luggage dimensions, but most airport workers see the dress and light up. There’s actually a closet in most airplanes or a place to hang it up without creasing. If you’re on a long distance flight, you increase your chances dramatically if you fly first class.
If you have the time and are willing to go on an adventure, you can also arrive earlier and go wedding dress shopping closer to your destination. If you’re coming to Santorini, there are millions of possibilities in Greece before you board the ferry to the island, not to mention some spots in here as well. You can also use websites to plan and preview the dresses you want to try on. This is a good solution if you’re adventurous and willing to experiment a bit.
So there you have it, hope this helps and if you used a different technique, please let me and other couples know!

SOME BEHIND THE SCENES OF MY PHOTO SHOOTS
Today I thought I should share some of the information of what to expect when you sign up for a photo shoot and share some of the behind the scenes and give some advice of what to bring with you etc.
Be prepared that your photo session is going to be an adventure and as a real adventure. Santorini summers get quite hot – ideally bring a hat and definitely bring a water bottle. Photo sessions usually involve walking between the locations and you might have to do some climbing as well – it’s all worth it to get the perfect shot! That’s why you should think about an extra pair of shoes (ladies especially, the Santorini cobble stone streets are not perfect for heels).
Usually you’ll have to hold a comfortable pose to get the right shot – Santorini gets really windy (which allows for artistic effect), but some time might be needed to get the perfect whirl of your dress, hair etc. What we’re looking for is that decisive moment where you have the feeling like you’re on top of the world. In the windy days a long dress is the most comfortable and the best option for feeling and looking good. So if you want a short dress for the photo shoot it would be good to have two options in case of those crazy winds.
All in all, if you just prepare a bit and have a relaxed attitude, these photo sessions are a great opportunity to explore some of the glorious sights of Santorini and have a new experience with your loved one.

INTIMATE WEDDING VOWS AT THE FOOT OF THE SKAROS ROCK
This adventure began with the kindest words any photographer could receive. Melorie and Michael were going to have an intimate wedding vow exchange here in Santorini and wrote Both of our families have been all over your website, telling us how beautiful your photos are! They are so excited that you are taking the photos! It makes them feel better about not going with us. Well, after this I knew I had to put all my effort in. Just the kind of thing I’m working for – saving precious moments and memories for relatives, couples and the generations to come. It was really an honor to be chosen to be a part of this special moment.
Before the big day, they also wanted to explore the island and get some photographs out of it. Could not be more perfect. They were really excited about two locations in particular – Oia Village & the Skaros Rocks. Not only was this a good way to relax and get to know each other a bit, the images turned out great!
Our adventure began next to their hotel Alta Mare. After a short conversation it was clear that this couple has a special creative spark and I had the feeling that this is going to be a great. We had a small walk in Oia and then headed to take some first look shots on this gorgeous balcony. Then it was time to visit the Scaros Rock and have some other shots along the way.
Then they saw the spot, it was like an instant connection – they knew they wanted to exchange their vows at this exact spot. So they did. And I had the joy and responsibility of capturing it. Only wind, mountains, nature and the two of them. It was magical.

JOCELYN AND CHRIS – THE SWEETEST COUPLE!
Recently I had the opportunity to work with yet another sweet and loving couple. And they chose the 90 minute photo session so that we could walk to all the most iconic landmarks of Santorini bathed in the warm sunset light. What a treat for the photographer and the couple alike!
They had eloped in Spain in July and chose Santorini as their honeymoon destination! Plus, they had found a place on Airbnb. Your European dream is possible with a bit of planning!
As we were not in a rush, we managed to get the iconic shots in the bright Santorini sunlight as well as more laid back and moody ones as the sun set. We took photographs next to the Blue Church, Caldera view, Skaros Rock, volcano view and the path next to the Caldera.
Here’s some feedback that brought immense joy to me,
“We just looked at them and oh my! They are gorgeous. Thank you so much for your wonderful work. It’s hard to believe that’s us. We love them so much. We want to thank you for making it such a fun shoot! We were both nervous and you made us feel at ease. So thank you!! It means so much to us.”

JAPANESE HONEYMOON IN SANTORINI
Santorini is truly the place to be for all lovers around the world. The island is like a big magnet of the most loving couples and newlyweds, and that is why I get to work with beautiful loving people that have come from the other side of the globe!
This was the case with the beautiful Yusuke and Misa, who came for their honeymoon all the way from Japan. I saw the light in their eyes as they walked around the most iconic sights of Santorini that they have previously imagined seeing in person… the 90 minute photo shoot was the ideal choice for them!
Oh boy, they looked so good together! She had this amazing dress designed by Jenny Packham and he was ever so handsome in his classic suit… as I walked along the streets of Santorini with this couple, I felt grateful to be a part of something truly special.

Stunning newlywed photo session in Santorini
This was a special one. I met Sarah and Maurice – a wonderful and loving couple from Germany – when they came for their honeymoon in Santorini. They were willing to go all the way so they brought their wedding garments with them! I think the result speaks for itself. They were one of those magical couples perfect for photographers – loving, understanding, positive and beautiful. They cheered me up even more when I received their message that read:
Thank you thank you thank you, the pictures are absolutely astonishing.
We just looked them through 10 times in we love them. You really made an amazing job!
